STUD’s to BUD’s Gelding Program

Thousands of horses are born every year as a result of poor breeding techniques and
mismanagement of mares and stallions. As a result, equine rescue organizations
across the nation have become overwhelmed with unwanted and neglected horses.
Our goal is to help control this over-population in the U.S. by reducing the number of unwanted births.
By
instituting an educational program encouraging the public to geld their
stallions and by offering free or reduced rate gelding services to those owners
who are willing to stop using their stallions for breeding and those who need to
keep their studs from contributing to the current overpopulation of equine. We
hope by offering this program to those who otherwise couldn’t afford the
procedure, will lower the number of homeless horses in our state.

The Stud’s to Bud’s gelding program is available in most geographical locations of Tennessee
and to anyone who meets the criteria and is in need of our services.  Funding is limited, so it is  offered as long as funding is available.
