About Sam:

Sam Perez is the weekend morning anchor and multi-skilled journalist at WBIR 10News. Sam grew up not too far away in the Horse Capital of the World: Lexington, Kentucky. Living in the Bluegrass state gave her an appreciation from an early age for horses, and she's honored to support Horse Haven's mission.
After attending college at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and spending a few years working in Columbia, SC, where she became the 2024 South Carolina Reporter of the Year, Sam moved to Knoxville. Now, she enjoys spending time in the Scruffy City trying out local restaurants, hiking, and telling stories "Straight from the Heart”  in the Volunteer State.
